Student City Cultural Center, September 17 – October 14: Alekse Avramović’s exhibition “Urban Archive”

The Gallery of the Student City Cultural Center presents “Urban Archive,” an exhibition by Alekse Avramović that lingers on parts of Belgrade quietly disappearing from view: walls, intercoms, windows, and facades that pass unnoticed in everyday life. The works grow out of the experience of a city that is constantly being torn down and rebuilt, giving ordinary fragments of urban space the weight of memory and presence. The paintings are created not only as depictions of scenes, but also as objects in space, with shadow and materiality that strengthen the feeling that these pieces of the city have been preserved from oblivion. The opening is on Thursday, September 17 at 7 PM, and the exhibition runs until October 14.
