Social Center Oktobar, Tuesday, October 20: screening of “Over the Garden Wall”

A misty forest, two lost brothers, and a world that looks like a fairy tale at first glance — but quietly digs into themes of alienation, forgetting, and life under the weight of roles that wear both the small and the grown-up down. At Social Center Oktobar, we’re screening “Over the Garden Wall,” the animated 2014 story by Patrick McHale and Katie Krentz, where Wirt and Greg, meeting strange and uncanny creatures along the way, search for a path back through the darkness — and back to each other. The film runs 1 hour and 55 minutes and brings warmth precisely where the story is darkest, making this more than just something to watch in passing: it’s a screening that leaves room for reflection and recognition.
