This Weekend at the Ethnographic Museum – 125 Years of the Ethnographic Museum

This weekend, the Ethnographic Museum marks 125 years of preserving stories, customs, beliefs, and cultural heritage for the future. Visitors get a rare chance to step inside museum storage areas that are normally closed to the public, see treasures from the jewelry, folk costume, and City Salon collections, and discover through exhibitions and conversations what preklada and zubun are, why song matters so much as intangible heritage, and how museum collections keep the traces of time alive. A special highlight is the exhibition "Serbian Weddings 125 Years Ago," offering a glimpse into the customs that shaped relationships and beliefs, while workshops at Manak's House expand the program with embroidery, gold embroidery, mosaic-making, and grivna braiding. The program features KUD "Stanko Paunović," Neda Nikolić, Vesna Dimić, Ensemble Narakord, Darko Prelić, and the folk singing group Zavičaj.
