The walls of the Historical Museum of Serbia become a time machine, guiding you through the most dramatic moments of the nation's history. The exhibition 'Heroic and Tragic – Images of War' reveals how artists have depicted wars from the First Serbian Uprising, through the Balkan Wars and the Albanian Golgotha, to the Second World War. Visitors can explore the profound emotions captured by renowned artists like Pavle Jovanović, Miloš Golubović, Mladen Josić, Milan Milovanović, Danica Jovanović, and Miloš Gvozdenović, uncovering layers of heroism and personal tragedy. Each painting tells a tale of suffering, bravery, and identity, providing an intimate educational insight into what has shaped modern Serbia. The exhibition is open daily, except Mondays, in the iconic setting of the museum at Nikole Pašića Square 11, from 12 PM to 8 PM.
