Italian Cultural Centre, 23 October 2026: Roundtable Discussion “Eco and the Genius of Language: Words, Signs, Worlds”

Umberto Eco takes center stage in a lively discussion on 23 October at 12:00 at the Italian Cultural Centre in Belgrade. This roundtable brings together Italian and Serbian scholars who explore his work from different angles: from the relationship between language, signs and reality to contemporary communication, image, comics, writing, translation and digital languages. Speakers include Ana Marija Lorusso, Giacomo Festi, Dušica Todorović-Lacava and Bojana Radenković Šošić, with Marija Koprivica Lelićanin moderating. The event is part of the 26th Week of the Italian Language in the World and will feature simultaneous interpretation into Serbian, making it accessible to anyone interested in culture, language and the ideas that shape our world.
