Film enthusiasts and lovers of cinematic history are invited to an extraordinary opening of the 28th Nitrate Film Festival at the Yugoslav Film Archive! On the first night, the oldest foreign feature film about Serbia - 'The Assassination of the Serbian Royal Family' from 1903, a reconstruction of the May Coup long lost and never shown in Serbia due to a ban, will be premiered on the big screen. Following that, audiences can enjoy the contemporary documentary 'Lumiere! The Adventure Begins' (2016), an impressive showcase of 108 restored films by the Lumière brothers with witty and insightful commentary by historian Thierry Frémaux. These screenings also mark 130 years since the first film screening in the Balkans, making this event a true celebration for all cinephiles and lovers of the seventh art.
