KC Grad, October 14 at 8 PM — Claim the Space: The Prostitute as Bodhisattva

The performance "The Prostitute as Bodhisattva" launches the new "Claim the Space" program at KC Grad and the City Gallery, bringing together performance, dance, movement, and other live art forms. Wang Yue, Da Hei, and Dmitry Tarakanov place two figures in the same space — a prostitute and the spirit of a Buddhist follower — while the voice of the Buddha accompanies a meeting that probes desire, devotion, and nightlife. The piece moves between the bodily and the spiritual, intimacy and renunciation, creating a stage situation that provokes more than it explains.
