KPGT, October 20 at 8 PM — THE TAMING OF THE SHREW - William Shakespeare

On the KPGT stage, The Taming of the Shrew goes beyond a classic reading of Shakespeare and becomes a clash of eras, ideas, and relationships between the sexes. The play follows a group of young actors gathered in 1986 in Feketić as, through working on the piece, they also step into the legacy of 1946—when equality for women existed in law, but not yet in reality without resistance. Between rehearsals, conflict, and a shared dream of traveling to the first Shakespeare Festival in Palić, the play also asks what becomes of a country that is beginning to fracture before their eyes. Directed by Vanja Vodeničarević. Running time: 96 minutes.
