KPGT, October 24: A Love Story

At the heart of LOVE STORY is the tragicomic fate of a diplomat from the 1960s. On the KPGT stage, the play follows a man pushed out of party and state circles and sent to a village school just as he is trying to protect both himself and his country from blackmail. Directed by Ljubiša Ristić, based on the novel by Puriša Đorđević, the story moves from political pressure into an unusual rural world full of strange poetry, unspoken languages, shepherds, and avant-garde “beautiful mute girls.” The performance lasts 120 minutes and features a live band and a large ensemble in a blend of satire, intimacy, and absurdity.
