On Earth Day, the African Art Museum opens its doors to the extraordinary exhibition 'Say: Art - Waste as a Resource' curated by the esteemed Ivana Vojt. This exhibition showcases how creativity and tradition in sub-Saharan Africa transform everyday waste like plastic, metal, textile, and glass into stunning utilitarian objects, jewelry, and souvenirs. Visitors will have the chance to admire paper bowls from Eswatini, sculptures made from flip-flop soles from Kenya, rubber motorcycle sandals from Tanzania, glass beads from Ghana, and baskets made from plastic bags from Burkina Faso. Each piece tells a story of sustainability, innovation, and the rich artistic traditions of the African continent. Admission is free, and the exhibition kicks off with a grand opening at 7 PM, making this event a perfect gathering for art lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and eco-conscious individuals.
