16:00h
Muzej afričke umetnosti
Andre Nikolića 14, Beograd
At the Museum of African Art, Prof. Dr. Agnieszka Kliczewska-Wójcik explores the rise of the Negritude movement and its lasting influence on how African culture and art are understood today. The lecture looks closely at Aimé Césaire and Léopold Sédar Senghor, while also tracing the broader cultural and institutional context that shaped the movement and transformed the reading of African heritage. Delivered in English, this talk is ideal for everyone interested in African art, the history of ideas, and contemporary ways of interpreting tradition. The program is organized in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Belgrade.
