This spring, Serbia's vibrant art scene takes center stage with a remarkable exhibition titled “Where to Escape? In Search of Oneself”, showcased at the second Malta Art Biennale. Running from March 11 to May 29, 2026, the exhibition offers an authentic blend of photography and sculpture, as Sonja Žugić, Miloš Šarić, and Milorad Panić explore the tension between global themes of alienation and change, and personal, poetic landscapes of their homeland. Curated by Stevan Martinović, Acting Director of the Museum of Applied Arts, the exhibition is marked by the theme “Pure | Clear | Cut”, inviting audiences to rethink their own perceptions of identity and space. This exhibition provides a unique opportunity to experience contemporary Serbian art in an international context, through works that are deeply personal yet infused with the universal questions of our time.
